How long have you been in your current position and what were you doing prior to being in this job? I started off as the summer registrar back in 2012 and worked for HR during the school year. In 2014, I was asked to create a new auxiliary revenue stream called the Business Partners Program. I then left my position in HR to create the program and also become the full time Auxiliary Programs Coordinator working under the supervision of the Auxiliary Programs Director. Once the Auxiliary Programs Director left in May 2019, the position was “refreshed” and a new title was added. I was appointed the position in October 2019.

What fits under the "auxiliary umbrella" at your school? After School Clubs, Aquatics, Student Success Network, Summer Programs, Weekend Clubs, Year Round Camps, Business Partners, COEP Treks, and Breakthrough. (There are talks about adding facilities as well!)

What's the best piece of advice you’ve received in your career? To always take risks but if they fail, fail quickly!

Is there any guidance you would give to someone just starting out leading auxiliary programs? Connect with your Auxiliary community! More than likely, whatever you are thinking of trying, someone already tried. No need to reinvent the wheel when there is so much information out there.

What is a current challenge you’re working to overcome at your school in your position? I am working so hard at integrating Auxiliary Programs into the “main” school community. I want to overcome the “us and them” mentality that has always been a dark cloud over Auxiliary Programs.

Can you share a recent success? Yes! I could not be happier to announce that for the first time ever I was able to get Auxiliary Programs to be included in our new strategic design plan for the school. It is being revised as we speak.

Is there a podcast, book or article you would recommend... and why? With a 2 year old at home all I get to listen to is nursery rhymes!

What do you most enjoy doing in your spare time? Spend time with my family. I have a young toddler at home that craves all of my attention! Together we enjoy parks and restaurants most weekends.

It's the annual staff Talent Show...what talent will you be sharing with everyone? Hula-Hoop!
