2024 Spring Training Series - Upgrade Your Summer Program Staff Training

This is the perfect time to focus on developing and refining your Summer Staff Training so you can be intentional about the structure, content and delivery!  Join SPARC expert advisors and colleagues from across the country for a 3-part series of interactive and collaborative sessions focusing on Summer Staff Onboarding and Training/Orientation Sessions.  Each session will kick off with a short presentation followed by participants sharing and discussing resources and ideas.  The first session will focus on staff onboarding and training including timelines, interviewing and preseason communication, and options for how to structure training /orientation sessions.  The second session will dive into content areas for staff training including mandatory health and safety topics, school/camp specific culture and guidelines, and more.  The third session will explore various ways to deliver materials including ice breakers, games, videos, and more.  Pre-session email communication will describe the materials participants should bring to each session to be able to engage and walk away with an action plan.  Sessions will be recorded so you can go back to review content.

We ask that attendees plan on attending all three sessions if they choose to participate in this program.

Tuesday, April 2

The second session will dive into content areas for staff training including mandatory health and safety topics, school/camp specific culture and guidelines, and more.
