In today’s world, it’s essential that after-school and summer programs are designed with the diverse needs of all youth in mind. Small but intentional tweaks to our program design can make a big difference in ensuring kids with varying needs feel welcome and included. We’re striving for spaces that are not just accessible but also foster a deep sense of belonging—a place where every child feels they truly matter.

This work is more important than ever. According to the CDC, over 40% of school-aged children and teens live with at least one chronic health condition, and 17% of kids aged 3-17 have one or more disabilities. That’s a significant number of young people who need programs built with their unique needs in mind. Join this session to explore practical tips for intentional decision-making that support the unique needs of children with disabilities and health challenges, creating a welcoming space for all.

All webinar registrants will receive a follow-up e-mail within 48 hours after the event with links to the webinar recording and applicable presentation slides. Note that SPARC members always have access to every recorded webinar on SPARC Connect.
