The 2024 SPARC Symposium: The Impact of Auxiliary Programs

Posted By: Amy Grier SPARC News,

Mark your calendar: this year's SPARC Symposium is Thursday, February 15 from 12:00 - 3:00 pm. A virtual gathering designed for auxiliary professionals at all levels, the Symposium is your opportunity to engage with your peers, elevate your leadership skills, and discover new ways to empower your auxiliary programs.

Exceptional industry professionals will be sharing stories about The Impact of Auxiliary Programs. Brett Pierce, the founder and Executive Director of Meridian Stories and author of Expanding Literacy: Bringing Digital Storytelling into Your Classroom, will kick things off with his keynote address, "Storytelling for Impact," where he will explore the power and possibilities of digital storytelling in the auxiliary world.

The keynote is followed by a panel discussion on Transformative Participant Impact. Hear how three auxiliary professionals have witnessed the life-changing power of their programs to foster relationships and enhance personal growth. The panel will be led by Sherronda Brown, Director of D-E 360°, Dwight-Englewood School, Joshua Shelov, Founder and CEO of Written Out Loud, and Aaron Dworkin, CEO of the National Summer Learning Association (NSLA).

I love how our Symposium draws auxiliary leaders out of their day-to-day work and encourages them to think on a different level. I'm particularly excited about this year's panelists and speakers who will have such interesting perspectives on how to design and deliver programs with the greatest possible impact.

--SPARC Executive Director Nat Saltonstall
